Unique glove identity...
You may have noticed that gloves in the MCR Safety
range are primarily identified by a code rather than a
name.
There is a very good reason for this and it’s because
each glove has a unique identity that can be determined
by the individual code.
Once you know how it works, it’s very easy to have
an overview of the glove profile at a glance.
The Prefix
This refers to the two letters at the beginning of the code
and these tell us the purpose of the glove and what type
of environment it is designed for. The prefixes we use are
as follows and this is what they mean:
CT : Cut Resistant
GP : General Purpose (General Handling)
DS : Disposable
IP : Impact Resistant
SL : Sleeve
WL : Winter Lined (Cold Protection)
The Number
The middle section of the glove code is always a four-digit
number, this identifies the family of the glove.
A family of gloves will always have the same shell, that
means the same yarn composition, the same gauge/weight
and the same construction.
There may be as many as four or five gloves in the same
family with the same prefix and number but with a separate
suffix to identify their individual difference, the difference
will be the coating.
The Suffix
This is the two letters that appear at the end of the code
after the number. They enable us to quickly identify the
glove coating. This is what they all mean:
SL - Latex Crinkle |
LF – Latex Foam |
NF – Nitrile Foam |
NO – Uncoated |
PU – Polyurethane |
PV – PVC Dot |
LD – Latex Double Dip |
LS – Latex Suction |
NA – Nitrile Air |
NM – Nitrile Micro-Foam |
NT - Nitrile Smooth / Dotted Palm |
ND – Double Dipped Nitrile |
ST – Puratec |
